Waiting has a cost too

Shingles shed granules as they age. Once sunlight reaches the asphalt underneath, they dry out, curl and crack, and a leak is often how you find out. Then replacement happens on the roof’s schedule, at that day’s price.

What is HRX Roof Protector?

HRX is a clear protective coating manufactured by Armovex for suitable asphalt shingles. It binds the granule layer and cures into a protective membrane. Roof condition is assessed before application.

Is this just paint?

No. Paint sits on top of the shingle. HRX penetrates it, binds the granule layer and cures into a flexible, UV-stable membrane. Armovex’s technical data sheet lists 0 g/L VOC and an ASTM E84 Class A fire rating.

Will my roof look different?

HRX cures clear, so your shingles keep their color.

Why does it cost less than a new roof?

It’s a different job, not a discounted replacement. There’s no tear-off, dumpster or landfill fee, and application usually takes one day, weather permitting.

My roof is only a few years old. Is it too early?

No. Newer shingles can be good candidates because more of the granule layer is still in place. We inspect the roof and review your shingle manufacturer’s warranty before recommending protection.

Does an online roof check approve my roof?

No. It guides the next conversation. An inspection must confirm suitability, necessary repairs and the scope of work.

What does the estimate include?

Inspection, prep, minor shingle repairs, application, cleanup and warranty registration. Your written proposal describes the scope. Roof measurements and conditions must be confirmed.

Can the price change after inspection?

Only if the measured roof area differs from the estimate. Your written price then changes by no more than ±5%, and any increase needs your written approval before work begins.

When am I charged?

Your proposal states whether payment is due after signing or before installation. Signing alone does not charge you.

What payment options can I use?

Your signed proposal offers secure card setup or online balance checkout when payment is due. Available methods, financing approval and plans are determined at checkout.

What does the warranty cover?

Armovex issues the 15-year limited performance warranty on its product, subject to its written terms and exclusions. It excludes hail and pre-existing roof failures, does not cover full roof replacement, and is non-transferable unless Armovex approves in writing. It does not promise 15 extra years of roof life. What about leaks or storm damage?

Start with an inspection. Coating is not a substitute for repairs or a sound roof structure. We review the reported concern before recommending treatment.

When is it too late?

When the deck is sagging, failure is widespread or the roof is actively leaking. A coating can’t fix that, so we’ll talk through replacement instead. Inspection decides, and you’ve paid nothing to find out.

Who is Holdfast?

An independent installer of HRX Roof Protector, made by Armovex of Salt Lake City. We’re inspection-first on purpose: if your roof is past protecting, we tell you.

How is replacement cost compared?

The estimator uses $850 per 100 square feet of roof surface as a replacement pricing illustration. It is not a replacement bid. Compare written quotes using the same measured roof area and included scope.
